Now, here's a classic. Oyayubihime was part of a Japanese TV movie series called Kowai Douwa or Scary Fairy Tales. A dark twist on the story of Thumbelina, the movie is about a girl named Saeko (Get it, guise? 'Cause she's crazy!) who falls in love with a boy who rejects her. She then uses a potion she got from a mysterious stranger to shrink him and takes him home with her.
Saeko is of course played by the beautiful Chiaki Kuriyama. If you've seen Kill Bill or Battle Royale, you know that Chiaki does crazy better than just about anyone. In the movie, she goes from being a shy, lovestruck schoolgirl to a controlling but mostly gentle giantess to a sadistic tormentor.

As someone who has downloaded and watched the whole movie, I can tell you that there is a lot of filler in there. If you want to skip all that, I would suggest checking out this playlist on YouTube. It's basically an abridged version of the movie using all of the good parts. The only thing it's missing is the ending, which is actually pretty great.
If you want to watch the whole thing, you can find the first part here.
